1. Product Model
2. Use
The load tank is loaded with resistance. Due to the use of air cooling, it has the characteristics of small volume, large power, light weight, convenient use, reliable performance and long-term operation. It can be widely used in scientific experiments and electrical products such as generators, inverters, and automatic regulators as a load.
3. Working Conditions

3.2 Altitude:
Altitude of the load tank installation site should not exceed 1000 meters.
3.3 Relative Air Humidity:
The average daily relative air humidity of the wettest month is 90% and the average air temperature of the month is 25°C.
3.4 The installation site has no gas, steam, chemical deposition, dust, dirt, and other explosive and aggressive media that can produce serious influence on the insulation of the load tank.
3.5 There is no severe vibration or jolt in the installation site.
3.6 Used indoors (a rain shelter is a must for outdoor use) place the load indoors, and install appropriate air exhaust duct.
5. Basic Principles and Main Structure Dimensions.
5.1 External Dimensions
5.2 Basic Principles
Each phase resistor (power element) is installed inside the inner cavity of the resistor, which is a rectangular pipe with four sides that are not ventilated. The pipe is connected to the upper exhaust port. The exhaust port has a flange and can be ventilated outdoors by users. There is a fan in the lower part of the inner cavity. The wind enters through the air intake hole in the upper part of the shell and removes the heat distributed around the inner cavity, then the wind is sucked into the inner cavity by the fan in the lower part to cool the resistor and finally discharged from the air outlet, so it has effectively reduced the temperature outside the load tank and the internal temperature will not increase either. The exhaust outlet has a net cover, which can be removed when a ventilation duct is installed indoors. The net cover is needed not to remove if the resistor is placed outdoors and it can work normally if a rain shelter is provided.
6. Installation, Use and maintenance:
6.1 For newly installed or long-term unused load tanks, a 500V megohmmeter must be used before operation to measure the insulation resistance between the incoming copper busbars (A, B, C three phases) and PE, and it can be safely used unless the value is not less than 2MΩ(each resistor and PE >2mΩ).
6.2 The control voltage must match the control voltage of the load tank.
6.3 The load tank must be well grounded. PE is the ground terminal and must be grounded to ensure safety.
6.4 The lower part of the front side of the load tank is the wiring window. After the line is connected, the window door must be closed and no air leakage is allowed. Otherwise, it will affect the heat dissipation effect of the housing.
6.5 When installing the exhaust pipe, an asbestos pad must be added at the flange joint to prevent hot gas leakage.
6.6 The load tank has an ammeter on the front that monitors the operating current of A.B.C three phases respectively. A voltmeter monitors the phase voltages of three phases separately. The yellow, green, and red three indicator lights monitor voltage tested at phase A.B and C respectively. The blue light is used to monitor the control voltage (voltage is 220VAC or three-phase 380V) and is used as fan switch. A.B.C three-way combination switches are used for switching power.
6.7 Operating Points:
a. Check and ensure that all three power switches must be in the OFF position before starting up.
b. A.B.C (yellow, green, red) power lights are on.
c. Control power light is on.
d. The fan must be turned on first. While the fan is rotating, the digital voltmeter and ammeter are all on. Then the power switch can be turned on again.
e. When the test is completed, the load switch should be cut off first and the fan should be turned for 5-10 more minutes until the resistor is cooled.
7. Safety and Advice
7.1 Because the load tank is a power device, the exhaust channel must not be touched by hand in high power situations to avoid skin burns. The indoor section is best wrapped with asbestos mesh, which can reduce the temperature rise in the room.
7.2 It is best to use three-phase 380VAC control voltage under full-load long-term operation to increase the air volume of the exhaust fan.
The method is as follows:
a. Remove the 220V control voltage line.
a. Remove the 220V control voltage line.
b. Connect a three-phase four-wire system power cord to the terminals of a.b.c and N.
c. Move the fan wire from terminal x3 to x2 and note the rotation direction of the fan.
